"Part of Snapper Music's reissue series for one of the world's leading Latin labels throughout the 70s, Coco Records. Eddie Palmieri is one of the most influential & charismatic figures on today's Latin scene, renowned for his fiery piano solos, hence the nickname, 'Hard Hands'. During the seventies he recorded several highly-regarded albums for Coco in which he successfully blended raw salsa & experimentation. Palmieri's most successful Coco album was 'The Sun Of Latin Music'. Released in 1974, it won the Grammy Award for the best Latin recording in 1975. It also marked the debut of the remarkable singer/songwriter Lalo Rodriguez, merely 16 years of age at the time & the writer of one of the album's highlights, 'Deseo Salvaje' ('Savage Desires')."
